Conference Video SCC 2018: Five short stories about stem cells and cancer
We have compiled a short clip with highlight stories from the previous conference in 2018:
AML Workshop 2018
This workshop was jointly organized by Carsten Müller-Tidow and Andreas Trumpp and aims to strengthen the ties between fundamental research on the role of stem cells in normal and malignant tissues and research in oncology. The translational side of cancer stem cell research was especially highlighted. Speakers from Germany and abroad presented recent results for clinicians but also basic researchers to highlight burning questions in the field as well as current strategies to improve therapy outcome. The workshop took place on Sunday, September 16, 2018 opening the program of the SCC 2018 conference.
SCC Conference 2018
From September 16-19, 2018, HI-STEM, together with the DKFZ and the Heidelberg University Hospital, was hosting the 10th International Heinrich F.C. Behr-Symposium on Stem Cells and Cancer. The conference featured talks by over 25 invited international speakers, including keynotes by John Dick (Toronto), Elaine Fuchs (New York), Pier Paolo Pandolfi (Boston), Ben Ebert (Boston) and Leonard I. Zon (Boston). On Sunday, September 16, Andreas Trumpp, the chair of the organizing committee of the event, welcomed over 300 participants to the conference. Topics of the talks included latest highlights concerning the malignant transformation of stem cells in the blood and other organs, as well as new findings concerning the epigenetic regulation of healthy and diseased stem cells.
