Ann-Kathrin Eisfeld is an associate professor in the Division of Hematology at The Ohio State University and a member of the Leukemia and Hematologic Malignancies Program at the OSUCCC. The Eisfeld Lab is dedicated to characterizing the genetic profiles of patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and other cancers to better understand how individualized treatment can produce even better outcomes. Her research focuses on acute myeloid leukemia genetics, as well as age-, gender- and race-associated differences in mutational landscape and prognostic significance of molecular markers. Her studies aim to identify prognostic factors and lead to refinements of disease classification and molecular subtypes, to enable personalized risk-stratification and treatment options. By examining the genetic profiles of patients, her group tries to better understand individual treatment response patterns to different therapies as well as the impact of select patient- and disease-related features. The Eisfeld Lab is committed to patient-centered research that enables clinicians to practice personalized medicine and to provide all patients with the best possible care for their specific cancer. She is recipient of AACR Next Gen Star Award, ASH Scholar Award for Basic and Translational Research, among others.
