Lars Velten

Lars Velten is a computational and experimental biologist with extensive expertise in single-cell genomics, hematopoiesis, and cancer biology. His research primarily focuses on understanding the causes and consequences of cellular heterogeneity in healthy blood formation and leukemia. To unravel these complex processes, his lab employs a combination of genomic, cell biological, and computational approaches. Since 2020, he has led a research group at the Centre for Genomic Regulation in Barcelona, Spain. His team works at the intersection of single-cell genomics and functional screening to characterize gene regulation and differentiation in the hematopoietic system, both in health and disease.
