Dr. Dr. Mirco Julian Friedrich, MD, PhD, is a junior research group leader of the research group “Hematology & Immune Engineering” at HI-STEM and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and a physician at Heidelberg University Hospital. His research focuses on the integration of synthetic immunology, genome editing, and AI-assisted bioengineering to reprogram the human immune system for cancer prevention, improved immune resilience, and healthy aging.
